Crystal Miller

CLD, CLC Certified Labor Doula & Lactation Counselor

As a doula I believe in the mystery that unfolds during pregnancy and through the process of birth. Every birthing person (and their close family members) deserves informed, competent, non-judgmental and compassionate support during this tender time. Whether you are choosing to birth in a hospital, at home, or in a birthing center, and with or without pain medication, my role as your doula is to support and honor YOUR choices and to provide you with information to help you make the decisions that feel right for you and your family. Giving birth is an amazing opportunity to remember your power; the innate power that all women hold in our sacred role as life givers. Giving birth is hard work, and by embracing the experience fully you can move through it in an empowering way. It is my honor to walk alongside you as you make this transition to parenthood.

What my Moms are saying

Becoming a parent is, of course, joyous, but it's also scary, a journey for which the company of a wise guide is paramount. Beginning in the second trimester, Crystal stepped into the role an interactive partner, engaging in long conversations about our growing family’s hopes and fears in order to understand, yes, but also to translate them into tangible birth practices and plans that would serve as touchstones during childbirth’s otherwise unpredictable processes. During labor and delivery, she never left our sides, her presence both strong and yielding, practical and ethereal. Not only did she communicate with me about my changing wants and needs, but she helped my partner integrate into the experience as well so that it was wholly ours. I’ll never forget the feeling of holding my son for the first time, he and his birth both perfect just as they were. I was totally overwhelmed by love and gratitude, doubtless because of Crystal’s loving ability to integrate the uniqueness of our experience into childbirth’s immemorial history and wisdom, a dichotomous truth that still grounds me every day in the ongoingness of motherhood.

When I worked with Crystal for my first birth I didn't really know what a doula was for and I wasn't sure I would need that support. I ended up feeling like I couldn't imagine birthing without one. Crystal was informed and intuitive and supported me in a way that no one else in my birth team could. She came a few weeks after the birth and did a wrapping which was such a powerful experience. When I was pregnant with my second, Crystal was the first person I called after I told my husband. To anyone considering working with her I highly recommend her!

Crystal, thank you for your valuable time and great care in performing a cast on my 36wk Baby belly. It was a relaxing, beautiful and nurturing experience. It was sacred, memorable and such a sweet way to honor this pregnancy. Your touch was soothing and so respectful. You were so attentive to my comfort, my emotions, so uplifting, so encouraging. I love, love my belly cast and my family and friends do too. Crystal, I would recommend your services in a heartbeat. Your experience as a Mother, Doula, Birthing Associate is greatly admired by myself and I hope that other women get to experience your Spirit, which has blessed me. Thank you for this sweet memory. With great love and care, Christi D.
